EMRRL Round 1:

Round one proved to be exciting for all the wrong reasons. Road captain Sam Parker got caught up in a crash and came out with a painful war wound to remember it by. Wishing our team captain a speedy recovery hoping he can get himself repaired and back in action come the summer.  Alex Pritchard managed to take something from the race with 11th.

EMRRL Round 2: Bourne Wheelers: Alex Pritchard 8th,

The chilly race started in the afternoon with the threat of rain maybe spoiling play. The race went hard from the gun, lots of attacking from many teams, but none coming to fruition as riders weren’t willing to work together. On the last lap a move of 4 went up the road getting a gap of around 30s on the bunch. A chase group was formed briefly which looked to be very dangerous but it was brought back. On the final time down the descent from Witham, 5k from the finish, Alex launched an attack solo which seemed to be successful, catching one of the riders from the break. However 50m from the line, Alex was caught by the bunch in their sprint and had to settle for 8th.

Regional B: Birmingham Business Park #1: Luke Slater 6th,

“from the gun the young riders were smashing it out the blocks to try and make a break, I felt really good and stayed up in the top 10 doing my fair share of work on the front. 1 rider broke away and stayed away whilst the rest of the pack were surging. Final few laps did my best to stay in the front, round the final corner with 400m to go I was exposed in the wind but fought for a wheel. Ended up taking 6th in the bunch kick with a new max HR of 203” Luke Slater
